It’s now official Chris Taylor will be the new State Representative for the 48th Assembly District after running uncontested. She won a six-way primary last month for the district that encompasses Madison’s east side and nearby communities.
Taylor got about 5,500 votes Tuesday, there were 591 write-in votes against her.
She formerly handled policy issues for Planned Parenthood Advocates and says the experience “fighting up at the capitol” will benefit her in office.
Taylor says looking forward to “a vision and a proactive agenda that people can believe in and that resonates with people.”
The Assembly district was vacated after Joe Parisi was elected to serve as Dane County Executive.
