The Green Bay Packers suffered a major blow to their defense today when it was announced that safety Nick Collins is out for the rest
of the season with a neck injury.
Collins stayed over night in a Charlotte hospital last night before returning to Green Bay. It was determined then that Collins should not play the rest of the season. A further course of treatment, including whether or not he should have surgery, is yet to be determined.
Collins told the team today in a team meeting. Mike McCarthy wasn’t sure if the injury that he suffered in yesterday’s 30-23 win over Carolina, is career threatening.
Charlie Peprah took Collins place in yesterday’s game and it’s expected he’ll step in as the starter in Collins place.
