Braun enters final game with chance at batting title

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun enters tonight’s regular season finale

Ryan Braun

against the Pittsburgh Pirates just percentage points behind Jose Reyes for the National League batting title.

Braun went 1 for 2 last night and is hitting .333932.  Reyes, who had a 3-hit night for the Mets against the Reds, is hitting .333962.  It’s nearly even.

If Braun can prevail after tonight’s game, he’d be the first Brewers player ever to claim a Nation League batting championship.

Braun is also right in the thick of things for the National League Most Valuable Player award.
