Rodgers completed 27 of 35 (77%) of his passes for 312 yards with 3 touchdowns and no interceptions for a 132.1 passer rating in the Packers’ 42-34 win over the New Orleans Saints last Thursday.
Rodgers first quarter passer rating of 158.3 in that game is the highest mark attainable. He completed 14 of 15 passes (93.3%) for 188 yards and three touchdowns.
Rodgers became just the second player in NFL history (Jack Kemp – 1964) to throw three touchdown passes in the first quarter of a season opener.
In his 7th season from California, this is Rodgers’ third career Player of the Week Award. He was honored twice last season.
