A little humor on the Senate floor Tuesday at the expense of Senator Erpenbach.
Senate President Mike Ellis (R-Neenah) needles Senator Jon Erpenbach (D-Middleton) about a possible bid for the 2nd Congressional District seat, for which the Middleton Democrat has been rumored to be contemplating a campaign.
Later, when Erpenbach asks about business being discussed, Ellis responds but also asks whether Erpenbach would like to make an announcement. Members in the Chamber respond in laughter and then Erpenbach questioned Ellis’ continued interest the congressional race.
Democrats Mark Pocan and Kelda Helen Roys have already announced their candidacy for Tammy Baldwin’s job, as the Congresswoman seeks to succeed retiring US Senator Herb Kohl. No Republicans have thrown their hats in the ring.
Also on the Senate floor Tuesday, State Supreme Court Justice Annette Ziegler swears-in new Democrat Senators Jennifer Shilling and Jessica King, and Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald (R-Juneau) adjourns in honor of two recently-recalled senators.
