Admirals losing coach to Carolina

The Milwaukee Admirals have called a 3pm news conference this afternoon, presumably to announce that they’re losing their head coach, Kirk Muller after just 17-games.

The NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes fired coach Paul Maurice this morning.  They could announce Kirk Muller as their next coach as early as this evening.

Muller was an assistant with the Montreal Canadians in 2006.  He took over the Admirals this season after Lane Lambert was promoted to Nashville.

Muller finished his career with 357 goals and 602 assists.

Dane County targets carp

Call it Carpageddon or decarpification, a Dane County project amounts to all out war on the least-loved fish in Wisconsin waters. Dubbed the Clear Lakes Initiative, County Board Chair Scott McDonell said the effort will remove carp and prevent new infestations, clean up beaches and reduce phosphorus. “I’m a pacifist by nature, but when it comes to carp, which turn our lakes green and kill off native species, I have no pity, no mercy,” McDonell said.
