Safe Kids Coalition: Read toy labels

As holiday shopping gears up, a Wisconsin child safety expert has advice when buying for kids. Nicole Vesely, Madison-area coordinator for the Safe Kids Coalition, says the labels on toys are there for a reason.

She says injuries regarding toys often happen when parents “overestimate” their child’s level of development and make the mistake of buying a toy beyond the suggested age range. Toys designed for older children may contain parts that are choking hazards or that are too loud for younger ears.

Vesely also says helmets are a necessity, not an accessory, when buying bicycles.

New Cubs manager Dale Sveum played with Bosio with the Milwaukee Brewers from 1986 to 1991.  Sveum is considering Bosio for his pitching coach as he looks to fill out his coaching staff.
