What’s in a name? In the case of Beezow Doo Doo Zoppitybop-Bop-Bop, it might be a case of writer’s cramp for Madison police officers. Thursday afternoon, police arrested the 30 year-old man near downtown Madison, for weapons and drug violations. “I do believe he recently had a name change,” says Madison Police Officer Howard Payne. “I’m not sure what the rationale was behind that particular name being chosen.”

According to the police report, officers approached Bop-Bop after receiving neighborhood complaints of excessive drinking in a city park. Bop-Bop, under probation for a previous arrest for carrying a concealed handgun, was found to be in possession of a knife, along with drugs and drug paraphernalia. Enroute to the Dane County Jail, Bop-Bop told officers he would “get even with them.”
