Mitt Romney taking Wisconsin deals the final blow to the Rick Santorum campaign, says a Marquette University Political Scientist. Professor John McAdams says Santorum needed to take the Badger State for a “psychological victory,” convincing voters he has a chance to secure the GOP Presidential nomination.
Romney now has more than half the available Republican convention delegates. Next up is GOP primaries April 24 in: Connecticut, Delaware, New York, Rhode Island and Pennsylvania. Romney, a former Massachusetts governor, is expected to rack up more victories.
A possible exception is Santorum’s home state of Pennsylvania. But McAdams says “it would essentially take a miracle” for the former Pennsylvania Senator to lock in the party nomination.
