Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun is trying to earn his 5th straight
starting assignment for the National League in the MLB All-Star game in Kansas City next month.
When Major League Baseball released its final balloting update Tuesday, Braun ranked third among National League outfielders with 3,168,617 votes. The top three vote-getters are named starters for the game July 10 at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City.
Matt Kemp of the L.A. Dodgers led all NL outfielders, followed by Carlos Beltran. Braun surpassed Melky Cabrera of the Giants and will try to hang on to that spot.
Voting closes at 10:59pm central time tonight and the Brewers are doing everything they can to encourage fans to “Vote Braun”. That effort includes passing out placards and T-shirts, encouraging Brewers fans to vote at MLB.com.
Results will be announced Sunday at noon on TBS.
