A group of Catholic sisters traveling the country to oppose the U.S. House Republican budget plan made a stop in Janesville Tuesday, where the “Nuns on a Bus” were greeted by hundreds of supporters singing songs and chanting “thank you.”
Sister Simone Campbell, one of the four nuns stopping at GOP Congressional offices across the Midwest, says they are concerned about provisions in the Republican budget that shift resources away from the poor, in favor of tax cuts for the wealthy and an increase in military spending.

Campbell says her small group had a “lovely meeting” with a member of Congressman Ryan’s staff. She says they were able to voice their concerns and drop of a “faithful” budget plan.
