There’s been more talk about Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan (R-WI) chances of being a running mate for GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney. Ryan is among those who have reportedly taken part in the vetting process, although he’s not commenting on the situation right now.
Ryan says all of the talk is somewhat distracting, since he’s more focused on doing his job in Congress right now. However, he says continued gridlock in Washington on passing a budget is also holding up advancing any changes in fiscal policies.

Ryan says the VP talk is more about the media anyway, and what they want. He says the decision is up to the Romney campaign and anything about trying to narrow down the list is just speculation. The Janesville Republican says anyone being considered will likely not comment because they don’t want to undermine the Romney campaign’s process.
Political commentators have said Ryan is worthy of consideration as a candidate for vice president, although many have also indicated they do not think he’s near the top of the list.
