A political observer gives the edge to President Obama in last night’s presidential debate which focused on foreign policy. Marquette University Political Scientist John McAdams says however Obama needed to prove Mitt Romney as reckless or perhaps “a yokel” on foreign affairs but neither happened.
He says Romney just needed to be show he’s worth-his-salt on global affairs, as the Republican’s focus has been the domestic economy. “To try to win on the domestic economy, it’s not necessary to defeat Obama on foreign policy,” he says.
A CNN snap poll gave the debate to Obama with nearly half of debate watchers say the president won the duel. This was the third and final debate between the candidates going into the November 6 election.
