Traffic was backed up for several miles on Interstate-94 in far western Wisconsin Tuesday morning, after a semi-truck and four other vehicles collided on the Saint Croix River bridge just west of Hudson.
Ambulances responded, but the Minnesota State Patrol said there were no serious injuries. The crash took place around 7:40 a.m., right during the rush hour for Wisconsinites who work in Minnesota’s nearby Twin Cities.
Law enforcement agencies in Wisconsin said the backups lasted over two hours. Traffic has been heavier than normal on I-94 of late, since many Wisconsin motorists are using the freeway as an alternate route while the Stillwater Lift Bridge is down for repairs a few miles to the north.
