Wisconsin consumers are being urged to check if they qualify for a refund from a $1.1 lawsuit settlement. The class action lawsuit accused 10 leading electronics manufacturers of an illegal conspiracy to raise prices on LCD flat panel screens that are used in everything from TVs to laptop computers. Wisconsin was one several states involved in the lawsuit, which resulted in the largest antitrust recovery ever obtained for consumers.
Those who bought products covered by the agreement can now check to see if they qualify for payments of up to $200 from the settlement fund. The state Department of Justice says the online process involves answering a few questions about LCD products consumers bought from a retailer or reseller between 1999 and 2006.
Consumers have until December 6th to file a claim.
