Just two days after the death of his mother, Wisconsin coach Bo Ryan led his Badgers to a 87-51 non-conference win over Samford at the Kohl Center.
Bo Ryan’s mother Louise Ryan passed away at the age of 86 in Florida.
Forward Mike Bruesewitz returned to the lineup (concussion) and scored a season high 13 points. All 13 came in the first half when the Badgers (9-4) shot 58.1% from the floor. They hit six 3-pointers, committed zero turnovers and jumped out to a 47-19 lead over Samford.
Sophomore Frank Kaminsky scored a career high 16 points to lead the Badgers. Ryan Evans, Sam Dekker and Jared Berggren also scored in double figures.
The Badgers open Big Ten play Thursday against Penn State.
