Wife of Marathon County sheriff facing criminal charges

The Marathon County sheriff’s wife is facing criminal charges. 41-year old Kim M. Hoenisch is a probation agent with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections at the Wausau Regional Field Office for the Division of Community Corrections. Charges were filed Friday accusing her of misconduct in public office, burglary, possession of narcotic drugs, and possession of a drug without a prescription.

Marathon County District Attorney Kenneth Heimerman says he has requested a special prosecutor, given the large conflict of interest that exists because of her relationship with the county.

A prosecutor from the Attorney General’s office will handle the case. Attorney Harry Hertel from Eau Claire will be defending Hoenisch. She is scheduled to make an initial appearance in Marathon County court December 28th.
