Time is running out for Wisconsin agriculture producers to take part in a national census.
The census conducted every five years looks at issues ranging from land use to income and expenses. State Agriculture Secretary Ben Brancel says it provides key data for developing national and state policies that impact farmers and he’s urging producers to take the time to fill out the form ahead of a February 4th deadline.

Brancel says anyone engaged in the production of food or fiber and makes more than $1,000 a year of selling those items should have received a census form in the mail in December. There are over 77,000 farms in the state of Wisconsin and Brancel says they hope to have as many as possible turn in those forms.
More information on the census is available on the USDA’s website.
