A new year usually signifies the end of the non-conference portion of the NCAA Basketball schedule. That is the case for the Marquette Golden Eagles (9-3) who host the Connecticut Huskies (10-2) at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in men’s hoops.
The Golden Eagles will not have Buzz Williams on the bench today. The Marquette Coach is serving a 1-game school-issued suspension for a recruiting violation this past off-season. The incident led to the firing of Assistant Coach Scott Monarch.
It will be a tough start to the Big East season for Marquette. Of their first five games, three are against ranked opponents (#15 Georgetown, #24 Pittsburgh, and #14 Cincinnati) and all five teams have 2-losses or less entering the conference season.
Tonight’s tip from the BMO Harris Bradley Center is set for 7:00.
