A happy ending for a found child case in Racine.
Police were dispatched to a west side neighborhood after someone called 911 to report finding a two-year-old wandering around without shoes and a jacket. It turned out the youngster was just trying to go back to his old apartment a block away, where he and his mother had lived until just a few days ago.
The child’s mother was sleeping while he slipped away and was stunned when confronted by officers about 45 minutes after the boy was found.
The toddler checked out at the hospital, where he and his mother were reunited. Police and social services indicated it was just an unusual incident.
