Former Wisconsin Badger hockey standout Brad Winchester has joined the Milwaukee Admirals for a professional tryout.
The veteran of nearly 400 NHL games, Winchester played last season with the San Jose Sharks where he totaled six goals and four assists for ten points in 67 games. In his NHL career he has scored 37 goals, dished out 31 assists and amassed 552 penalty minutes in 390 games with the Sharks, Anaheim Ducks, St. Louis Blues, Dallas Stars and Edmonton Oilers.
Winchester played at Wisconsin from 1999 through 2003 and was a second round draft pick of the Edmonton Oilers in the 2000 NHL entry draft, splitting time between the Oilers and their AHL affiliate from 2003 through 2007.
Winchester will look to make his Admirals debut tonight against the Houston Aeros at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
