The state’s largest agricultural show is returning to Dane County in 2015, its 62nd year, and will set up shop on the Statz Brothers Farms in Sun Prairie.
Bob Wipperfurth, chair of the Dane County Farm Technology Days executive committee, says it was one of about 15 locations they looked at around the area. He says the family farm just kind of surfaced on its own and the “cream rose to the top.”
The farm milks about 2,000 Holsteins, runs about 5,500 acres, and has 75 full-time employees. Operator Joe Statz says he’s thrilled to be the host site, and he sees it as a chance to give back to the farming community by showing them what the family farm is all about.

Dane County Executive Joe Parisi says it will help highlight the over $3 billion a year economic impact agriculture has in the county. He says it’s a great chance to show off the ag community and industry of the entire county.
Thousands of people attend the annual show, which has been hosted in 38 different Wisconsin counties over the years. This year’s Farm Technology Days is in July in Barron County.
