Emergency officials are monitoring the snow pounding on the nation’s midsection.
Tod Pritchard with Wisconsin Emergency Management says it’s not the big one, but the whole state will get snow during the overnight, and the Friday morning commute will be tricky for Wisconsin motorists. “For those of us who have to go out, make sure you take your patience with you and really plan a little extra time in your travel because that Friday morning commute is going to be kind of a mess.”
We could see up to eight inches in the far southwestern part of the state — Grant and Crawford Counties — and lesser amounts elsewhere. Expect about four to five inches in Milwaukee and Green Bay, and about five to six in Madison, and just a couple of inches near Superior.
Pritchard says, it’s not Snowpocalypse. “I think everyone should keep this in perspective. It’s not snowmageddon. This is not the big one, but it’s certainly going to cause some problems. It’ll make travel hazardous, especially on the secondary roads.”
On the plus side, it won’t be extremely windy or cold, so Wisconsinites don’t have to worry about severe wind chills.
