A man and woman face attempted homicide charges following a weekend shooting outside an Eau Claire tavern. Police responded to the parking lot of the Idlewood bar on Malden Avenue at 1:30 a.m. Saturday, to a report of shots fired.
At the scene, officers learned that two patrons got into a fight inside the bar, and the altercation spilled into the parking lot where one of the individuals fired six shots from a handgun at several people. No one was hurt, and the suspects had fled.
Five of the six bullets fired struck the side of the building, while the final round entered the living room of an apartment above the bar.
After investigation, police arrested 36 year-old Rodney Craig and 32 year-old Shirley Heath of Eau Claire. Police say the handgun and other physical evidence linking the pair to the crime was recovered. The investigation is ongoing.
