Marquette takes on Miami tonight in the Sweet 16 (AUDIO)

For the third straight season, the Marquette Golden Eagles will take the floor in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament.  Tonight, the co-Big East Champions take on the ACC Champion Miami Hurricanes in Washington D.C.

Both teams didn’t have high expectations coming into this season.  Marquette was picked to finish 7th in the Big East but ended up with a share of the conference title. Golden Eagles Head Coach Buzz Williams on how this team stacks up against his last two Sweet 16 squads…

Miami was expected to be in the middle of the pack of the ACC, however they took home their first ACC Championship and just their 2nd conference crown in School history.  The Hurricanes never finished higher than 5th in the ACC before this season.  It is also just their second trip to Regional Semifinals in School History.  Buzz Williams on Miami’s sudden success…

The winner will take on the winner of Indiana and Syracuse in the Elite 8 Saturday.  A Marquette-Indiana match-up would put Buzz Williams against Tom Crean, who left Marquette for Bloomington in 2008.  Thursday’s tip from Nation’s Capital is slated for 6:15.
