Prosecutors could mention a suspect’s past domestic abuse-related police calls during trials under one of three bills from a Northeast Wisconsin state lawmaker. Rep. Andre Jacque says people charged with domestic abuse often have a lengthy history that may not lead to criminal cases until later, and a jury deserves to hear that information.
The De Pere Republican is pushing a second bill that would close several loopholes in the state’s rules for restraining orders.

A third bill would require police to document all domestic abuse-related calls, even if nobody is arrested, or a victim decides not to cooperate.
