Prison is ordered for the Wausaukee man accused of killing a teen in a Marinette County drunk driving accident. Christopher Croley of Ishpeming was just days from his 14th birthday when he perished in the October accident. Timothy C. Christ, 29, will spend more than twice that under the watch of Wisconsin’s criminal justice system for causing Croley’s death.
Christ pulled his pickup truck out of a Middle Inlet tavern onto Highway 141 and ran head on into the Croley family vehicle which killed young Christopher and injured three other Croley family members. Christ’s blood alcohol level was found to be over three times the legal limit following the crash.
At his sentencing in Marinette County Court Monday, a unique aspect was added to Christ’s punishment. District Attorney Kent Hoffman says Christ will have to watch a video of Christopher Croley every year on the victim’s birthday. Christ will serve 21 years of initial confinement in prison, plus an additional 15 years of extended supervision.
