Former Milwaukee Bucks assistant coach Kelvin Sampson is scheduled to interview for
the team’s head coaching job on Thursday.
Sampson is an assistant coach in Houston with the Rockets. Houston’s season ended in the first round of the playoffs against Oklahoma City.
Sampson served as a head coach in the collegiate ranks at Washington State, Oklahoma and most recently Indiana. He left the Hoosiers after two years after a telephone recruiting scandal.
Sampson was then hired by San Antonio’s Gregg Popovich and then Milwaukee’s Scott Skiles.
The Bucks are also expected to talk with former Seattle and Portland coach Nate McMillan. McMillan has already talked with the Detroit Pistons and is considered to be one of the leading candidates there.
The Bucks fired interim coach Jim Boylan and are looking for their 13th head coach in franchise history.
