A Manitowoc man is in custody after police say he fatally shot his brother. Manitowoc Police Detective Dave McCue says 65-year-old Robert Sullivan faces a charge of first degree intentional homicide for allegedly shooting and killing his 62-year-old Carey Sullivan early Sunday morning.
McCue says investigators believe the shooting was the result of an ongoing dispute between the brothers over the estate of their parents. The brothers had inherited their parents’ home and McCue says there were ongoing arguments over the family finances.

McCue says the older brother called 911 to report the shooting, just after eight on Sunday morning. Police took Robert Sullivan in to custody and found a 20-gauge shotgun while searching the house, which investigators believe was used to shoot the younger brother.
Sullivan is currently being held in the Manitowoc County Jail. A bail hearing has been scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
