Milwaukee Brewers centerfielder Carlos Gomez has been selected as one of three
National League finalists to receive a 2013 Rawlings Gold Glove Award. Joined in the competition in center field is Andrew McCutchen of the Pirates and Denard Span of the Washington Nationals.
Gold Glove Award winners will be announced on Tuesday, October 29.
Gomez recorded a career-high 12 assists this season, which trailed only the Mets’ Juan Lagares (14) for the Major League lead among center fielders. He also made five home run-saving catches and did not commit an error over his last 32 games.
Gomez is looking to win the 10th Gold Glove Award in franchise history. The last one came back in 1982 when Robin Yount won a Gold Glove at shortstop.
