A search warrant affidavit obtained by a Madison television station indicates that a Rock County man who is a possible suspect in the death of a young Fitchburg woman reportedly met her when she answered his Internet ad for sex.
The document obtained by WISC-TV said 29-year-old Nathan Middleton, who is being held on a probation violation, apparently burned the body of 18-year-old Aprina Paul body in a pit at a residence near Evansville which he shared with his fiance. That was two days after they met.
Paul’s family said they last saw her October 27th when she left their home with a man they didn’t know. The Janesville Gazette cited search warrant documents stating that Middleton took Paul to his house, where they had sex and smoked marijuana together. The paper said he woke up the next day, found Paul dead in his bed, and tried unsuccessfully to revive. Middleton allegedly hid her body in a blanket outside his garage, burned her purse and clothing, threw her cell-phone in a ditch, built a fire pit, and started burning Paul while his fiancée was out shopping.
The documents said Middleton and his fiancée tended to the fire that night, and he allegedly burned the body again the next day.
