The UW-Milwaukee Panthers men’s basketball team started slow and in the end, couldn’t play catchup in a 73-57 Horizon League loss to Wright State at the Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio.
Wright State (13-9, 5-2 Horizon League) jumped out to a 10-1 lead and stretched it to 39-21 at halftime. The Panthers managed to make just six of its first 24 shots from the field and 7 of 14 at the free throw line.
The Panthers (13-8, 3-4) shot 58% from the field in the second half, but the gap was too large to close.
Kyle Kelm had 16 points and Jordan Aaron 15 for the Panthers in the loss. They’ve dropped 2 of 3 on the road and will play four of their next five at home.
