7’1 senior center Alec Brown poured in 24 points and the Green Bay Phoenix extended their win streak to nine straight games, beating
Wright State 79-69 at the Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio.
It’s just the second win for Green Bay at Wright State in the past 12 meetings and only the 3rd time since 2000. Green Bay (14-3, 4-0 Horizon League) moved two games in front of the closest competition in the Horizon League.
Wright State (12-6, 2-2) was picked to finish second behind Green Bay in the preseason polls. They had won 6 of 7 prior to last night and were 9-0 at home.
Brown scored 17 of his 24 in the 1st half and teammate Keifer Sykes scored 14 of his 18 in the second half.
The Phoenix shot 59% from the field (28 of 47) overall and 80% (21 of 26) from the free throw line in the win.
