Marquette shoots for 4th straight win tonight

The Marquette Golden Eagles have very little to show when it comes to NCAA Tournament credentials.  Winning at home tonight would get them started in that direction.

The Golden Eagles host 11th ranked Creighton in Big East action at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

The Blue Jays (21-4, 11-2) likely have the national player of the year in Doug McDermott.  They shoot three’s better than most NBA teams and attempted a school record 35 three-point shots in the Big East opening 67-49 win over Marquette on New Year’s Eve.

Marquette (15-10, 7-5) is starting to play better of late.  They’ll be searching for their 4th straight Big East win having moved into a third-place tie with Xavier.

How many teams will make the tournament from the Big East?  Many believe that number will be at least four.  Where Marquette fits into that equation remains to be seen.  This much is for certain, the Golden Eagles will need to finish strong in regular season play and make a deep run in the Big East tournament at the very least.  A win tonight against Creighton would be a big help.
