Phoenix stay on top in Horizon League

Alec Brown scored 24 points and Keifer Sykes added 14 points and 9 rebounds to lead the UW-Green Bay Phoenix past Youngstown State 71-40 in Horizon League action in Youngstown, Ohio on Thursday night.

Green Bay dominated this game throughout, leading 39-23 at halftime.

It’s the fourth straight loss for the Penguins, while Green Bay returned to the win column after falling at home against UW-Milwaukee last week.

The Phoenix has a 1-game lead atop the Horizon League, 1-game better than Cleveland State.  Green Bay plays at Cleveland State on Saturday with first place on the line.

Vincent Garrett

The Green Bay men’s basketball program suspended senior guard Vincent Garrett for three games for a violation of team policy.

The 6’6 Garrett is averaging 6.5 points a game after transferring last year from Rutgers.
