A motorcyclist from Milwaukee is in custody, after police say he opened fire on another vehicle with a handgun in the middle of rush hour traffic.
The incident occurred at about 7:30 Monday morning on Highway 41, near the Miller Park baseball stadium. It resulted in two lanes of southbound Highway 41 being closed for about two hours.
Police say 35-year-old James Norman fired a shot at a vehicle, then sped away from the scene. The bullet reportedly passed through both windows, but did not strike the driver. The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office says Norman then sped away from the scene, crashing into a median a short distance later.
The driver of the car was not seriously hurt, but did receive cuts from broken glass.
Sheriff David Clarke says Norman could face attempted homicide charges for the attack. Officials are investigating whether alcohol played a role in the incident.
