Voters across the state are heading to the polls today for spring primary elections. Most of the races appearing on ballots are for county and municipal offices, local school boards, and judicial vacancies.
The Republican primary in the 20th State Senate District is probably the most high profile race on the ballot. There are three GOP candidates hoping to take the seat left vacant when Glenn Grothman won a congressional seat last November. Former Assembly Republican Duey Strobel of Saukville is running, along with Ozaukee County Board Chairman Lee Schlenvogt and former National Guard and Army Reserve member Tiffany Koehler.
The winner of today’s primary will go on to the April 7 general election unopposed, since no Democrats are running in the Republican-leaning district.
The polls close at eight this evening.
