The Dane County Medical Examiner has released the preliminary findings of an autopsy conducted on 19-year-old Tony Robinson. The unarmed black teen was fatally shot a week ago by a Madison police officer, sparking a week of demonstrations around the city.
The preliminary report shows Robinson died from “firearm related trauma” to the head, torso, and right upper extremity. The report does not say how many times Robinson was shot though.
The Medical Examiner’s Office also indicated that additional studies, including toxicology tests, are still underway at this time. Results are not expected for “several weeks.”
Robinson’s death remains under investigation by the State of Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation, the City of Madison Police Department and the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office.
