Green Bay Packers linebacker Nick Perry revealed Tuesday that he had surgery on his shoulder following the end of last season. Perry played with an injured shoulder last season and missed only one game.
Perry didn’t have the fifth-year option on his rookie contract picked up, which means he’ll be a free agent after the upcoming season. It will be an important year for Perry, who will need to be productive to insure a nice contract, not to mention any chance of returning to Green Bay.
“I would love to be here, I can’t control that,” Perry said. “My first goal is making sure I’m ready to go for the season and that stuff comes later after the season. So I’m not really worried about any of that stuff right now.”
Perry collected three sacks in the regular season plus another 1.5 in the two playoff games last season. He was the 28th overall pick in the 2012 draft and if healthy, could be looking at considerable playing time this season.
