Most Wisconsin cities and counties saw their local unemployment rates climb during the month of June.
Figures released by the state Department of Workforce Development show rates went up in 27 of the state’s 32 largest cities. Racine had the highest unemployment rate at 7.6 percent, which was up from 7.4 percent in May. Milwaukee had the second highest, at 7.4 percent.
Menominee County had the highest rate among counties, at 11.1 percent. Rates were up in 51 of the state’s 72 counties.
The lowest rates for cities and counties were in Madison and Dane County, which were both at 3.5 percent.
