A Wisconsin state senator who was recalled from office in 2011 is running again. The La Crosse Tribune reports that Dan Kapanke has registered a campaign committee with the state elections’ agency.
The Republican will oppose Senate Minority Leader Jennifer Shilling of La Crosse, who won a full four-year term the year after defeating Kapanke in the recall.
Kapanke served in the Senate for seven years before losing the recall due to his support for Act Ten, the GOP law that essentially eliminated collective bargaining for most state and local public unions.
