House Speaker Paul Ryan wants younger generations to learn the truth about what conservatives really believe.
Speaking to affiliate WRJN on Monday, the Wisconsin Republican said young voters should be learning about what it really means to be a conservative, rather than what he described as the “cartoon version.”
“Conservatism is actually a very inclusive and aspirational mind set…it’s a happy way of life,” Ryan said. “How our principles apply to the problems of the day provide the best, most enduring solutions that give young people more control over their lives and their destiny, and guarantee a more prosperous future.”
Ryan has criticized comments made by some of the Republican presidential candidates, which he has argued run counter to the goals of the conservative movement.
