The Richland County Sheriff’s Department has released the names of two teens who were killed in a weekend crash. Sheriff James Bindl said said first responders arrived on the scene in Dayton Township on County Highway A, about three miles west of Highway 80, on Saturday afternoon. Deputies found a car had overturned and landed in the south ditch.
Sixteen-year-old McKenzie Foust, of Richland Center, and 17-year-old Brooklyn Lindvig, of rural Richland Center, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in the car, 18-year-old Jacob Logterman, of Richland Center, was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The Richland School is planning to have counselors and staff available to assist students.
