A plea deal has been taken by a central Wisconsin woman accused of killing her boyfriend after crashing into his motorcycle last July. Details of the plea for 29-year-old Jessica Hendricks were not specified by Wood County District Attorney Craig Lambert.
It was allegedly a text message that took her eyes off of the road long enough to crash into Scott Carlson on his motorcycle and kill him while they were dropping off the bike at the apartment they shared on July 25th. They were traveling on Highway 173 near Port Edwards.
Hendricks has been charged with second-degree reckless homicide and pled not guilty to the charge in January. She’ll be back in court on June 13th for her plea hearing on this charge and counts of fraudulent credit card use and forgery. Those charges are from an unrelated incident in February, which she has also pleaded not guilty to.
