Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services is withdrawing a request to make changes to state Medicaid programs.
The state had submitted a concept plan to the Joint Finance Committee for changes to the IRIS and Family Care long-term care programs. In a letter to the JFC co-chairs sent Thursday, DHS Secretary Kitty Rhoades asked that the plan be withdrawn for now.
Rhoades said the agency would continue working to improve how the state delivers Medicaid services. “I remain committed to the goal of an integrated outcome-based care model that coordinates all of an individual’s care needs,” she wrote.
The move comes after numerous concerns were raised by advocacy groups, lawmakers, and those enrolled in those programs.
