LA CROSSE – The 2016 WIAA Boys and Girls State Track & Field meet crowned team and individual champions Friday and Saturday at Veteran’s Memorial Stadium in La Crosse.
On the team side, Brookfield East won the boys division one team crown, and Freedom came out on top in D2, while three teams, Coleman, Marathon, and Wild Rose, all shared the Division 3 championship.
Milwaukee King, Jefferson, and Cuba City won the division one, two, and three titles, respectively, for the girls.
Also highlighting the weekend were 12 meet records set in front of an overall weekend crown of 17,361.

MADISON – The WIAA Boys Individual Tennis Championships wrapped up over weekend at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.
David Horneffer of Brookfield East capped an undefeated season by winning the division one singles. Kohler’s Casey Johnson took the D2 title.
The doubles championships belong to Brookfield East seniors Patrick Krill and Doug Francken in D1 and Charlie Parish and Isaac Hingtgen of Green Bay Notre Dame in D2.

MADISON – The 91st WIAA State Boys Golf Championships begin with day one of competition at University Ridge.
Defending champions Arrowhead, Lodi, and St. Mary’s Springs are all in the field once again this year, as is Neenah senior Sam Galloway, the individual meet medalist last year in division one.
The tournament concludes on Tuesday.
