For Ryan Braun to make his seventh trip to the All-Star game, he is going to need help from the fans. Braun was named one of the five that are up for the NL Final Vote. Fan voting over three days will determine who earns the final All-Star roster spot.
Braun is competing against first baseman Brandon Belt of the Giants, third baseman Jake Lamb of the D-backs, outfielder Starling Marte of the Pirates and shortstop Trevor Story of the Rockies.
Braun’s .323 batting average led the Final Vote candidates entering Tuesday’s games. Braun leads Milwaukee with 13 homers and has driven in 44 while scoring 35 times. Braun’s .916 OPS was second to Lamb’s .974 for among Final Vote choices.
Fans can vote at MLB.com for the All-Star Game Final Vote until 3 p.m. on Friday.
