A walk-off passed ball produced the only run as the Milwaukee Brewers dropped the finale of a three game series with the Cincinnati Reds 1-0 on Sunday at Great American Ball Park.
The loss spoiled a stellar start from Zach Davies, who tossed seven scoreless innings giving up just four hits and striking out five.
Billy Hamilton dashed home on All-Star Jonathan Lucroy’s passed ball with two outs in the ninth inning, giving Cincinnati the win. Hamilton drew a two-out walk from Tyler Thornburgh before moving to second as Will Smith relieved and walked Joey Votto. Hamilton then stole third putting himself in position to win the game.
The Brewers offense struggled managing just four hits and were unable to get a runner past second base.
The Brewers dropped two of three in the series to the Reds and take Monday off before starting a series in Pittsburgh on Tuesday.
