Wisconsin’s unemployment rate remains at a 15-year low of 4.2 percent for July, unchanged from June.
The state Department of Workforce Development says nearly 46,000 private sector jobs were added over the past year, while 5,000 jobs were created in July. The biggest job increases were in construction and transportation.
Last month was the third consecutive month the jobless rate held steady at 4.2-percent.
Wisconsin’s labor force participation rate was 68.3 percent, higher than the participation rate of the entire country, 62.8 percent.
