Green Bay Packers cornerback Sam Shields left Sunday’s 27-23 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in the fourth quarter and was being evaluated for a concussion.
Shields was slow to get up after a collision with Jaguars running back T.J. Yeldon. Shields was eventually able to walk off under his own power, but he didn’t return to the game.
Shields missed the final three regular-season games last season, plus the playoff opener at Washington after suffering a concussion against Dallas on Dec. 13. He was able to return for the Packers’ NFC divisional playoff game at Arizona.
If Shields does have a concussion, it will be his fourth dating back to college.
Mike McCarthy is scheduled to meet with reporters this afternoon, but it’s not certain if he’ll update Shields condition at that time.
